Meet the Artist

Hi there! I'm Suzanna Stapler, Squillustrate's Founder + CIO (you know, Chief Illustrating Officer)

I’ve approached life with a sketchbook in hand for as long as I can remember.  Drawing (and writing!) provides the most natural way for me to connect with an environment, examine an idea, and express my emotions.

I tend to create with a fondness for whimsy and a light-handed attempt at realism, remaining open at all times to the unpredictable language found somewhere in the midst of the sketching process.

Primarily self-taught, I studied Entrepreneurship and Marketing rather than art at Belmont University, learning not only the foundations of business but also the passion I hold for the entrepreneurial spirit.  Listening to the stories of others provides an endless stream of inspiration, and I’m honored at any opportunity to jump into the process of bringing a vision to life.

I started Squillustrate in my dorm room three years ago, and since then, I've illustrated two children's books, worked with over one hundred clients on various illustration and graphic design projects, and continued to hone my style with daily practice.  To everyone who got me this far, I can't thank you enough; your encouragement and support make this possible!  I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to create for others and excited to see where this journey leads.
